London, Nov. 3 (ANI): A 79-year-old woman from Somerset is set to play a deadly martial arts assassin in her Hollywood debut series.
Retired midwife Kay D'Arcy will star in the series as an absent-minded but merciless avenger with lethal weapons hidden in her hair bun, the Daily Express reported.
D'Arcy landed the role in Agent 88 after showing off her tai chi skills.
"What impressed us is that Kay could go from being frail to being a totally empowered woman," producer Jan Utstein-O'Neill said.
D'Arcy, who has five children and 11 grandchildren, went to Hollywood 10 years back to pursue her dream.
The series that will be shown at first online, is described as a "shoot 'em up kung fu romp."
Series creator Digger T Mesch came up with the idea of the series after watching a YouTube video of British widow Ann Timson, who tackled sledgehammer-wielding robbers with her handbag last year. (ANI)
