The wait is finally over for Sridevi lovers to watch her charm on the screen after 15 years with the release of Gauri Shinde's directorial venture 'English Vinglish' this Friday.
Even after 15 years she is the best and an absolute delight to watch. As
Shashi Godbole, Sridevi is at her best again reminding you of her early innings
in the bollywood.
English Vinglish is the story of a Pune based devoted housewife Shashi Godbole (Sridevi) living with her husband (Adil Hussain), son Sagar and daughter Sapna. While Shashi's husband finds it too easy to order for anything to her wife due to her innocence and commitment towards him and her family, Shashi's overachieving teenaged daughter is embarrassed with her mother, as she does not know to speak English. But Shashi's son is the only companion to her in the family and very affectionate to her.
As a traditional Indian housewife Shashi who loves cooking and also runs a part time business of making laddoo and is perfect in her role as a wife, mother and a housemaker apart from all the humiliations she had to face for her inability to speak English.
The movie proceeds with daily humiliation and taunting to Shashi but the humiliation became out of acceptance the day when her Husband makes fun of her saying "My wife was born to make laddoos."
Thereafter, her niece motivates her to learn English saying you are not born for making ladoos only while her visit to New York to attend a wedding. After that, she makes a call to a English Tuition center in New York City and the fun begins with lots of interesting sequences and some superb piece of acting by beautiful and charming Sridevi.
Even after a gap of 15 years she is captivating, appealing and charming on the screen taking all the credits of the movie on her shoulders. He looks stunning and beautiful reviving her old magic on the screen with her outstanding ability to act and graceful expressions.
So, watch out English Vinglish for Sridevi where she describes the true potential and determination of an Indian women while turning her from a vernacular 'housewife' to a English speaking wife and mother.
