Sydney, Oct 31(ANI): Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has said he expected to be left out of the squad for the first Test match against South Africa at The Gabba in Brisbane, and backed his replacement Mathew Wade to cement his spot.
Haddin said he would be more than ready to grab any chance of a recall in the Test team, and added that he is still enjoying his cricket.
"He deserves his opportunity and he's played well since he's come into the Australian team," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Haddin, as saying of Wade.
"I've been watching his game over the last 12 months and he's just going from strength to strength, so from that point of view Australia are in safe hands," he added.
"My job now is to get back to NSW and like everyone else enjoy Australia regaining the No. 1 Test ranking," he said.
Haddin added: "I'm here if they need me; they know that. From my point of view nothing's changed. I'm enjoying my cricket at the moment. I'm enjoying being back playing. From that point of view, life goes on." (ANI)
