Ahmedabad, Tue, 30 Oct 2012 ANI

Ahmedabad, Oct 30 (ANI): Terming the Congress party as a 'cancer', yoga guru Baba Ramdev has said that he would campaign against the ruling party at Centre in poll-bound Gujarat.

Addressing mediapersons here yesterday, Baba Ramdev said during the tour, he would be educating the people of the state on the multiple sins committed by the Congress party.

"The list of economic, social and political sins committed by the Congress party will be revealed to the 60.5 million people of Gujarat. Until black money is recovered and this Congress party, which has become cancer for this country, is removed from power at the centre, India cannot attain justice," said Ramdev.

Indicating his allegiance to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the yoga guru said that he was pushing for a vibrant and fearless leader for the post of the next Prime Minister of the country.

"Out of the 543 seats in the lower house of parliament, atleast 272 good and honest lawmakers must be elected and we will work to get a prime minister, who works to bring back black money and eradicate corruption and replace this misadministration with good administration in the country," Ramdev added.

Baba Ramdev will start his campaign at Alampur village in Bhavnagar from today and travel to Halol, Panchmahal, Nadiad, Bilimora among other places in Gujarat till November 8.

The first phase of the Gujarat assembly polls will be held on December 13, while the second will be held on December 17. Counting of votes will take place on December 20.

Over 35,000 troopers from the paramilitary forces and at least 55,000 state police personnel are likely to be deployed for the upcoming Gujarat polls.

Gujarat has 182 assembly constituencies, 13 of which are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 26 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) with 3.78 crore voters. (ANI)
