New Delhi, Oct 29 (IANS) Three people were arrested for betting on a cricket match of the Champions League T-20 tournament played in South Africa, police said Monday.
"Rajesh Gupta, Mohd. Yameen and Gopi Kishan Goyal were apprehended while betting on a match between Highveld Lions and Sydney Sixers Sunday, near Tilak Bazar at Lahori Gate in central Delhi," said a police officer.
The gang had taken bets for over Rs.5 lakh on the match, police said.
Six mobile phones, a television and six phone SIMs have been recovered, said the officer.
During the tournament, the gang handled bets for more than Rs.55 lakh, he said.
