Manmohan Singh-led government is corrupt, insensitive and deceitful: Swaraj

Palampur , Sat, 27 Oct 2012 ANI

Palampur, Oct 27 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said the Congress-led UPA Government was not only corrupt and insensitive, but also deceitful.

Himachal Pradesh, ruled by the BJP, goes to assembly polls on November 4 and Congress is the main opposition party in the state.

Swaraj, who is also Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who swears by honesty and integrity heads the most corrupt government.

"The Prime Minister, who swear by honesty and integrity day in and day out, heads the most corrupt government. This government is not only corrupt, insensitive but also deceitful," said Swaraj in Palampur town of Himachal Pradesh.

The image of the Prime Minister has been dented due to series of scams, including multi-million scandals such as telecom and coalgate.

She alleged that the government allowed foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indian retail market by betraying the assurance given in the parliament.

"The assurance given by both of them is mentioned in the parliament's proceedings. But completely ignoring it and betraying us and people of this country, the cabinet allowed FDI in retail market," added Swaraj.

The senior BJP leader hit out at Congress Party leader Virbhadra Singh, who is leading party campaign in Himachal Pradesh state, over the manifold increase in his income.

"Prime Minister, we know that money does not grow on tress. But (ill-gotten) money is found in Congress leaders' pocket. Crossing all limits, Virbhadra Sing has shown that money in his bank account," added Swaraj. (ANI)
