New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia would be visiting India from October 28 to November 3.
In response to a question from the media on the visit of Khaleda Zia, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, would be visiting India at the invitation of External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna from October 28 to November 3, 2012.
"The visit is part of our ongoing engagement with a democratic and multiparty polity in Bangladesh. It would provide an opportunity to exchange views on all matters of mutual interest with a view to building upon the positive momentum in India-Bangladesh relations," Akbaruddin said.
During her visit, Begum Khaleda Zia is scheduled to call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
She would also meet Krishna, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon and Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai. She is also expected to visit Ajmer Sharif.
Begum Khaleda Zia's last official visit to India was in 2006, when she was the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. (ANI)
