Patna, Oct.24 (ANI): Former Deputy Chief Whip in the Bihar Assembly and senior JD(U) leader Murlidhar Mandal passed away in Khagaria on Wednesday.
Family members said that Mandal had died of heart failure in his native Dhutha Village. He was being taken to a hospital for treatment when he died, they added.
Mandal, 60, is survived by his wife and two sons.
His funeral took place in his native village this afternoon.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar described Mandal as a "sensitive personality" who was deeply concerned about development of his region.
State Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary also condoled death of Mandal. (ANI)
