Chandigarh, Oct 23 (IANS) Chandigarh and its surrounding areas were lashed by rain and hail late Tuesday evening.
The rain, which started around 10 p.m., was followed by hail in some parts of the city.
Ongoing Ramlilas in the city were hit by the sudden rain and hail as the audience ran for cover and the organisers were forced to stop the event in many areas.
The rain and hailstorm are likely to bring down the temperature further. The city Tuesday saw the maximum and minimum temperature at around 30 and 15 degrees.
Met officials said that the thundershowers were predicted for the city and some parts of the adjoining states of Punjab and Haryana.
