London, Oct 20(ANI): Banned cyclist Lance Armstrong has requested people to carry on with their support to his charity organization for cancer victims, the Livestrong Foundation, in his first public speech since the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) released its damning evidence of the American being a drug cheat.
Armstrong refused to be drawn into the doping allegations, instead focusing his attention on the charity, which aims to unite, inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
"Whoever we can serve need infinite hope. The mission must go on," the Age quoted Armstrong, as saying.
"Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me, to all of us. We will not be deterred. We will move forward and we will continue to serve the 28 million people around the world that need us the most," he added.
Armstrong stepped down on Wednesday as chairman of Livestrong. (ANI)
