New Delhi, Oct.16 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi met President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday, and speculation is rife that the two leaders may have discussed plans for a reshuffle of the cabinet with the latter.
While the Prime Minister met the President in the afternoon for over an hour, the Congress chief held talks with Mukherjee for nearly 40 minutes in the evening.
While there was no official word from the Rashtrapati Bhawan as to what was the focus of discussion at the two meetings, sources said a reshuffle of the Council of Ministers was discussed.
They added the reshuffle could happen on or before Friday.
Also, reports said Rahul Gandhi too is scheduled to meet the President tomorrow.
There has been speculation about reshuffle in the Cabinet and filling up of berths in the ministries left vacant by the resignation of Trinamool Congress and DMK representatives. (ANI with inputs)
