India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki will launch its new car Maruti Alto 800 tomorrow on Tuesday October 16 in India. They are launching this car to compete with rival Tata Nano and Hyundai EON.
Sales of the Alto declined in the April-August to 89,000 units as compared to 1.22 lakh units a year-ago.
Now with the new Maruti Alto 800 they will also try to get back their lost market share.
Here are the features of new Maruti Alto 800 and why it is different from other car:
Maruti Alto 800 will have 6 variants: 3 in CNG and 3 in Petrol.
The petrol version will be priced around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh while the CNG version will be priced around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh.
Petrol version is expected to give a mileage of approximately 23 km/l while the CNG version will give a mileage of around 31 km/l.
Though the actual specifications of engine are not revealed yet but it is expected that the F8D engine serving on the current model will be fine-tuned. It may also have a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The petrol version of Maruti Alto 800 will have an engine with maximum power of 46 bhp at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 62 Nm at a low 3,000 rpm.
