Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated a mega health and public services camp at, Sarvodya Co-education School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. It has been organized by the Mission Convergence with an objective to provide an alternative service delivery system to the under privileged section of the society by bringing all converging departments on a single platform integrating the services offered by various departments.
The Mission Convergence has been organizing such camp in every district in the capital city. Apart from health services and information and awareness on various schemes, the camp at Vasant Vihar offered the new services.
Dikshit described the camp as a convergence to provide services at the door step of the residents. She stated apart from providing health check-up, routine health tests, free distribution of medicines, kids immunization the camp has been providing necessary information on prevention of diseases and moderating life style to ensure a healthy and active life.
Speaking on this occasion, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Dr. Yoganand Shastri stated that presence of thousands of persons in the camp is reflecting satisfaction of people towards the services being provided by the City Government. He stated that the Chief Minister is keeping close contact with people. The camp is also an example of bhagidari concept promoted by the City Government as most of the departments under Delhi Government have gathered here to serve the people.
The Chairperson , Delhi Mahila Ayog Barkha Singh and MD, Mission Convergence, Santosh D Vaidya were also present.
