New Delhi, Oct 4 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi begins a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir beginning on Thursday.
Gandhi has also invited industrialists and corporate leaders like Ratan Tata, Kumarmangalam Birla and Rajiv Bajaj and Deepak Parekh, among others to join him during his visit.
The business delegation will most likely join the Congress General Secretary at the Kashmir University campus, where he is scheduled to interact with students on October 5.
Rahul Gandhi is also scheduled to meet Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and discuss the panchayat issue.
In the wake of militants targeting panchayat members in Jammu and Kashmir, nine panchayat members from the state under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Coordination Committee met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi earlier last month and apprised him their problems.
Earlier on April 16, militants had pasted posters asking elected village council members to relinquish their posts within a week or face fatal consequences. (ANI)
