New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) A 36-year-old woman, accused in a dowry death involving her daughter-in-law, committed suicide in a jail lock-up here, police said Saturday.
The incident took place Saturday around 3 p.m. in the Saket court complex when the deceased, Meena Kumari, was brought to the premises for a hearing. She was kept in one of the cells.
"A constable had gone to the cell to take her for the hearing but she was found hanging from the ceiling with her saree. She was alone in the cell," said a police official.
Kumari, along with her husband and stepson, were arrested in June.
