London, Sep 26 (ANI): British boxing star David Haye has ruled out fighting Vitali Klitschko in the world champion's home of Ukraine over claims that he has received "death threat from racists" in the country.
Haye lost his WBA crown to Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir in Hamburg last year and is now eyeing a clash with the older Klitschko for his WBC belt, on the proviso the fight takes place in Germany.
"I have never been to Ukraine but I have heard it's very dangerous for a black man. There are crazy racists who have already sent me death threats. So Germany would be the best and safest place for me to beat Vitali and get out of the stadium alive," the Daily Express quoted Haye, as saying.
Meanwhile, boxing legend Ricky Hatton is set to announce the opponent for his comeback fight this Friday.
Kell Brook has confirmed his interest in fighting Hatton, while Amir Khan's manager has done the same for his fighter, the paper said.
Michael Katsidis is also in contention, while Paulie Malignaggi, who Hatton has already beaten, is also linked, it added. (ANI)
