London, Sept. 23 (ANI): Formula one ace Lewis Hamilton, who is set to take pole position in the Singapore Grand Prix, has hailed his McLaren team, despite the uncertainty looming over his future with the F1 club.
Hamilton, 27, who has yet to commit his future to the team where he has been since he was 13, was almost half a second quicker than Pastor Maldonado, who will start in second place on the grid.
"I have 1,000 per cent confidence in my team. Every year you prepare yourself and come in thinking 'I'm going to do my best this year. I am stronger and will be better prepared and will work better with the guys at the factory'," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.
"I asked the team to tell me if there were things I could improve on and if there were things they were unhappy about. I think I have always had the ability to do what I am doing now, but I just feel that things are better, so I am trying my best to keep it the same and keep balanced," he added.
McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh thinks all the speculation about Hamilton's future has made him a better driver as he battles Fernando Alonso for the title.
"Possibly all this contract chat has caused him to put the barriers up and allowed him to concentrate on the job. He has realised this championship is winnable and I think he is in a good place," he said.
Hamilton has been rumored to be offered a contract worth up to 100 million pounds including bonuses by Mercedes. (ANI)
