New Delhi, Sep. 21 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Prakash Javadekar on Friday accused the Central Government of being arrogant and unresponsive to the needs of the common man.
"The country has yesterday observed a Bharat Bandh very successfully and protested against all these anti-people decisions but see the arrogance, see the audacity of the government, to continue with such anti people measures, this is what we are condemning. And, if government is in such arrogance, then it will pay very heavily for that," warned Javadekar.
Javadekar further alleged that the government was using the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to accomplish its political aspirations.
"The government might have the numbers but they don't have the support of the country's people. They are expert in misusing the CBI to gather majority but the public can not be cheated and misguided using the same," said Javadekar.
He the BJP would continue to campaign against FDI in retail and reduction in the availability of subsidised cooking gas cylinders.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) organised the shutdown to protest against reforms, including introducing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail, brought the nation to a partial standstill on Thursday.
A large number of shopkeepers and local traders carrying posters "FDI in Retail, Indian Trade on Sale' vent their ire over the ruling UPA Government's decision to bring FDI in multi-brand retail. (ANI)
