Colombo, Sept 15 (ANI): Riding on captain M.S. Dhoni and Irfan Pathan's fine show, India overpowered hosts Sri Lanka in their practice game by 26 runs, ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Batting first, India made 146 runs at the loss of five wickets, with Dhoni remaining unbeaten on 55. He was supported by Rohit Sharma, who stitched a valuable 78-run alliance with the skipper.
In reply, Irfan Pathan returned with figures of 5-25, to ensure the hosts collapse at 120.
Jeevan Mendis offered Sri Lanka some hope with a busy 26, but tight bowling from India's seamers ensured Sri Lanka had too much to do in the final few overs. Five Sri Lanka wickets fell in a heap in the last two overs, as they attempted a belated surge. (ANI)
