New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee will begin a four-day visit to West Bengal from Friday, said an official statement here.
This will be Mukherjee's first visit to West Bengal after assuming office.
He will attend the culmination of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur Saturday, and confer awards of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa), Distinguished Alumnus Awards and gold medals.
The president would also visit the Netaji Research Bureau and see Netaji's sitting room and the museum, the statement Thursday added.
"On Sep 16, the President will inaugurate the Sanjiban Hospital at Fuleswar, Howrah. Union Minister of State for Tourism Sultan Ahmed would also be present on the occasion," said the statement.
