Bal Thackeray targets 'dynasty' politics of Congress

Mumbai , Sat, 08 Sep 2012 ANI

Mumbai, Sep 8 (ANI): Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has lashed out at the 'dynasty' politics of the ruling Congress Party, and said it was taking the country to the dumps.

"Rahul Gandhi harbours ambition of becoming the Prime Minister. Sonia has become everything and is proceeding in an autocratic manner," he said.

In the first of a four-part interview published in party mouthpiece Saamna, Thackeray said there was no dynasty in the Shiv Sena.

He said that he did not bring Uddhav or Aditya, and neither nominated them to the positions in the party.

"Rahul Gandhi is set to be the Prime Minister it seems. Is the PM's post like some chair in Bhendi Bazaar?" he said.

Thackeray said Priyanka Gandhi was also entering into the political field "like another Indira Gandhi.

He further said there is no leadership in the country.

The Shiv Sena patriarch, referring to Afzal Guru and Ajmal Kasab, said that it was 11 years since the Supreme Court sentenced Guru to death.

"Why can't they be hanged? Or have we run out of ropes due to farmers suicides?" he asked. (ANI)
