London, Sep 3(ANI): Australia sports minister, Kate Lundy was forced to don a British team kit and row 1,000 metres on the Eton Dorney lake after she lost her Olympics bet to her English counterpart, Hugh Robertson.
Lundy had wagered that the Aussie team would bring home more medals than Britain after the London 2012 Games, but Team GB easily beat the boys and girls from Down Under by collecting 65 medals, including 29 gold, compared to Australia's 35 with seven gold.
Crowds cheered Lundy, who is a former rower, as she took to the water in a single scull to complete her task.
Afterwards Robertson, who poured champagne for her, greeted her. The pair then shook hands and toasted their bet, the Sun reports.
Had Britain lost out, Robertson would have had to sport an Australian field hockey uniform and dribble a ball around the country's official London residence, Australia House. (ANI)
