Ahmedabad, Sep 2 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has taken potshots at dynastic politics in the country again, referring to the Gandhi-Nehru family that has for long dominated the Congress party and blamed them for causing great injustice to the age-old traditions followed by ancestors.
"The party is so involved in dynastic politics. This has caused great injustice to our history and tradition built by our ancestors," Modi said while addressing a gathering here on Saturday.
Modi also accused the Central Government headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of ruining the country, when it was on the verge of pacing ahead on the path towards development.
He took a jibe at the government and said that the present scenario is different than what had been expected in the 21st century, adding that the country's potential has been untapped.
"The government in Delhi has completely changed the face of the country. The entire world was discussing about India's potential in the 21st century. The entire world was discussing whether China or India would take the lead; the entire world's focus was Asia. The people in the country were also confident that India would prove its mettle in the 21st century. Unfortunately, since the last eight years, there is such a government that has created such a situation that we have crashed, before taking off," he said.
Modi further stated that despite India being an agricultural economy, the government has been unable to surpass the growth rate of three percent until now.
" Our country is supposed to be an agro-economy. Despite that, there is no agricultural growth above three percent. Since the last eight years, the Manmohan Singh government has been speaking about improving the agricultural situation in the country. We have Ganga, Yamuna, Krishna and Godavari, but despite that the farmers are facing problems," he said. (ANI)
