Kokrajhar (Assam), Aug 23 (ANI): Police on Thursday arrested Bodoland People's Front MLA from Kokrajhar, Pradeep Brahma, for allegedly inciting violence in the district after ethnic clashes between Bodos and a minority community rocked parts of the state last month.
According to reports, seven cases have been registered against him on the basis of statements of the witnesses, who have named him in a number of cases.Pradeep Brahma is likely to be produced before a court later today.
The police has imposed indefinite curfew in the district as a precautionary measure.
Reportedly, Bodoland People's Front has already launched a protest rally against the arrest of the MLA and has begun blocking roads and highways in the area. (ANI)
