London, August 21 (ANI): Scientists have developed a new iPad robot that lets a person go anywhere in the world virtually, without ever having to leave the comfort of their home.
The 2,000 dollar Double Robot has been described as "the simplest, most elegant way to be somewhere else in the world without flying there.
It can move around, all controlled by people's own iPad's, and even adjust its height to make sure that they are always at eye level.
The firm Double Robotics, who built the robot said that the gadget could be used to attend meetings, meet friends for lunch, and even visit art galleries around the world.
"You can stay at eye level, whether sitting or standing, by adjusting your height remotely, which makes conversations fluid and real," the Daily Mail quoted the firm as saying.
Just like segway, the robot is based around a single wheel, which balances it as it moves, the paper said.
Where it is not moving, a retractable kickstand automatically deploys to conserve power, it added.
The robotic company said that "Efficient motors and lightweight design give Double the ability to last all day without recharging the battery.
The gadget has already proven to be a huge success, with the first run already sold out, the firm said. (ANI)
