New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Women FIDE Master Chandika Divyasree of Andhra Pradesh will start as the top seed in the 39th National Women Challengers Chess Championship that gets underway here from Saturday.
The 10-day-long event, being sponsored by the Amity Group and hosted by Naurang Foundation, will see around 100 players from 25 states in action. Second seed Rucha Pujari of Maharashtra, Women International Master P Priya of Tamil Nadu and veteran Women International Master Bagyashree Thipsay of Maharashtra will make the job tough for the top seed in this 11 round Swiss System Championship with a prize fund of Rs.1.25 lakh out of which Rs.30,000 is reserved for the winner.
The top twenty players will qualify to the National Women Premier Chess Championship, which is scheduled in the month of October in Maharashtra.
