Two killed in Delhi car crash

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS) Two property dealers were killed after their car hit a scooter rider and then rammed into a pile of bricks on the roadside here early Wednesday, police said. The scooter rider was injured in the accident.

The incident took place around 2 a.m. in west Delhi's Alipur area when Rishi, 32, and Saurabh, 25, were returning back to Delhi from a trip to Jammu and Kashmir.

According to police, the car was driven by Rishi who lost control over the vehicle.

"The car first hit a scooter rider, then rammed into a pile of bricks which was lying on the side of a road for the construction of a house at Murthal," said a police officer.

The three were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where doctors declared the two men in the car dead while scooter rider Mukesh, 33 was shifted to Raja Harish Chand hospital, police said.

The impact of the collision was so powerful that the car's steering column broke and pierced Rishi's abdomen.

"Police took around half an hour to take out Rishi from the car," said the officer.

Rishi, hailed from Kanpur, while Saurav lived in Adarsh Apartment in Alipur.

"Few months ago Rishi came to Delhi and the duo property dealers planned a trip to Jammu," police said.

Mukesh, who works in private firm and was returning back to his home in Alipur from his duty, is undergoing treatment in the hospital where his condition is said to be out of danger.
