I can't defy any command from my daughter: Shatrughan Sinha

Mumbai, Aug 15 (IANS) Veteran actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who is back home from hospital after bypass surgery, is now under his daughter's observation.

The 66-year-old has been asked by his daughter not to meet too many guests or use his phone. He can't step out alone for anything except his morning walk.

"There's only one woman I am afraid of. I can't defy any command from my daughter. She has taken away my phones and put me under house arrest," Sinha said.

Sonakshi, who made it big in Bollywood with "Dabangg", makes sure that her father continues to maintain the same diet and routine that he followed in the hospital.

Fondly called Bihari Babu and Shotgun, Sinha was admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri July 2 after he complained of breathlessness following some paint work at his residence.

During investigation, blockages were discovered in the coronary arteries and, based on medical advice, he underwent surgery.

He was finally discharged Sunday evening.

He is happy to be home and says it is the first time he has been away for such a long time.

"I have never been away from home for this long. It's been complete 40 days. Even the longest outdoor shoots during my career did not stretch that long. My wife (Poonam) and children (Sonakshi, Luv and Kush) were always there for me in the hospital. Thanks to them and my doctors, I am born again," said the actor, who debuted in 1969 with "Saajan".

He gives full marks to his surgeon Dr. Anvay Mulay for giving him a new life.

"We were advised to opt for a more senior surgeon. But we had full faith in Mulay. He made the entire procedure of surgery and recuperation seem like a cakewalk," he said.

Sinha, the Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Patna Saheb, Bihar, wants to spend sometime at his ancestral home in Patna, as soon as he's allowed to travel.

"I have already sent a letter to Parliament asking for sick leave. As soon as I can travel, or rather my dear daughter would allow me to travel, I want to go to my home there," he said.
