London, Aug 6 (ANI): Online retailer Amazon has said that a majority of its customers in the UK are buying e-books than print editions.
The firm's UK arm revealed it sold 114 titles for its Kindle e-reader in 2012 for every 100 hardbacks and paperbacks."As a result of the success of Kindle, we're selling more books than ever before for authors and publishers," the Daily Mirror quoted Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice president of Kindle EU, as saying.According to the report, the new figures do not include titles offered on the website free of charge to download.
Amazon introduced its first Kindle in the British market in 2010 and their popularity has since soared.
The latest Kindle starts at 89 pounds, weighs about 500g and has a battery that can last up to three weeks. (ANI)
