Itanagar, Aug 5 (ANI): The strategically crucial state of Arunachal Pradesh, that shares a 1080 km- long border with China, is developing its infrastructure rapidly.
The Centre, too, is sparing no efforts to improve security and to develop infrastructure in the state.
Work on 1,700-km long trans-Arunachal Highway that will link Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam, is underway, besides the construction of new roads and building an efficient rail and air network.
Interacting with media recently, the state's Governor, General (retired) J.J. Singh, said, "The government has planned to spend Rs.25,000 crores on development of airports, railways, four-lane highway, trans-Arunachal highway connectivity with the various districts and remote administrative centres right up to the borders."
Lamas at the monastery here said the security in the region is reassuring.
Lobsang Thapke, a senior monk at Tawang Monastery said, "Initially there was only one brigade, but now there are three to four brigades in Tawang district, and they are protecting us well. We are not afraid or worried. These soldiers are there to protect us and to allay our fears." (ANI)
