Vitali Klitschko to fight David Haye in March 2013: Boente

London, Thu, 26 Jul 2012 ANI

London, July 26 (ANI): WBC champion Vitali Klitschko's manager has given boxing fans fresh hope of a clash taking place between Vitali and David Haye in March 2013.

Vitali's younger brother Wladimir, it maybe recalled, defeated Haye, earlier.

Bernt Boente also refused to rule out a possible rematch with Wladimir.

Haye is back in the world heavyweight title fight after his stunning knock out of Dereck Chisora 12 days ago, and Boente claimed Vitali could face him here in the spring in what would be a huge pay-per-view fight.

"Vitali meets Manuel Charr in September and then goes on the political campaign trail at the Ukraine elections, which are held in October," The Daily Mirror quoted Boente, as saying.

"He has to win his fight and then see the outcome of the elections. Then Vitali must decide what to do if he is not elected into a certain position. There is still a chance the fight will come, but not this year. It will probably be in England on pay-per-view next year, possibly in March," he said.

Boente claimed Haye pulled out of negotiations to meet Vitali in September because the former WBA champion felt Chisora was an easier payday.

"Haye knew the date and the details and everything was fine but then, because of the brawl in the Munich, decided to fight Dereck Chisora," said the German.

He also claimed that a second fight with WBA Super, IBF and WBO king Wladimir is not impossible, although he says dealing with Haye is infuriating.

"I will not exclude anything. I have learnt from past dealings that you can't rely on anything he says or does. He is like a fish in water - you can't catch him. It's all in Haye's hands. Whatever he wants, he just needs to approach us," Boente said. (ANI)
