Melbourne, July 21 (ANI): Powerful Windies all-rounder, Kieron Pollard, will be playing for the Strikers in this summer's Big Bash League.
Pollard is one of the world's best Twenty20 players and has been a crowd favourite since joining the Redbacks three years ago.
The powerful allrounder, who earns more than $750,000 with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, left a gaping hole in the Strikers line-up when he suffered a hamstring injury on the eve of the first Big Bash League.
Having Pollard in the line-up ensures the Strikers boast a genuine threat with the bat, while he is just as effective with the ball, News.com.au reports.
South Australian Cricket Association director of cricket Jamie Cox said: "Every time 'Polly' has made it on to the ground for a South Australian team, we've ended up in a final. It's very exciting to have him back."
Pollard will be in Adelaide from the start of the tournament and is expected to play the majority of games, but international commitments will determine just how long he remains.
Squad: Johan Botha (captain), Theo Doropoulos, Callum Ferguson, Jon Holland, Phillip Hughes, Michael Klinger, Nathan Lyon, Andrew McDonald, Michael Neser,Pollard, Gary Putland, Nathan Reardon, Kane Richardson, James Smith, Shaun Tait. (ANI)
