'Discarded' Pak batsman Yasir Hameed appeals to PCB for comeback

Islamabad, Thu, 19 Jul 2012 ANI

Islamabad, July 19 (ANI): Discarded Test batsman Yasir Hameed has appealed to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf to consider his name for the national team in future.

"I appeal the PCB chairman and the selection committee to consider me for selection in the national team for future assignments," the Daily Times quoted Hameed, as saying.

Hameed, whose last appearance for the national Test team was in 2010 against England, said he had some good scores in the Pentangular Trophy and national Twenty20 tournaments.

Hameed, who played his last ODI against India in 2007, said he had never given up hopes of his future involvement with the Pakistan team.

"I believe that with hard work, I can capture the attention of the PCB selectors and can make a comeback for Pakistan. It will be an honour for me to play for my country again. I have not given up hopes of an international recall and will continue to work hard and improve and get noticed by the selectors not in one but all formats of the game," he said.

Hameed stamped his presence in international cricket with two Test centuries on debut against Bangladesh in Karachi in August 2003, becoming only the second player to achieve that feat. (ANI)
