Srinagar, July 18 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League (JKPFL) on Wednesday staged a demonstration against alleged human rights violations by the state government.
Demonstrators marched to the United Nations Military Observers Group office at Sonawar here, and submitted a memorandum demanding the release of people wrongly incarcerated and the withdrawal of laws that restrict the civil liberties."This protest is to demand an end to all the black laws. We also demand the release of those who have been wrongfully kept in prison for two decades now. We intend to take this agitation to the United Nations, so that we can submit our memorandum," said Shabbir Ahmad, a demonstrator.The protestors were, however, taken away in a police vehicle, before they could submit their memorandum.
