Mohit not worried about matching music of 'Aashiqui' (Movie Snippets)

Maharashtra,Cinema/Showbiz, Wed, 18 Jul 2012 IANS

Mumbai, July 18 (IANS) Director Mohit Suri, whose is directing "Aashiqui 2", says he is not under pressure to match the epic music of the 1990 musical hit "Aashiqui".

"Honestly, no one can match the sale of music that happened at that time. Physical sales are less today. What I want to do is not beat that music but for today's generation I want to satisfy their music choice," the 31-year-old said in an interview.

"I think I will not fail if I don't match the music of 'Aashiqui' but if I fail to give good music in today's film. That is my aim," he added.

Produced by Vishesh Films, "Aashiqui 2" stars Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor in lead roles.

Our real life more dramatic than our films: Karan

Filmmaker Karan Johar, whose films are tagged as over-the-top drama, says that real life is more dramatic than what is seen in films.

"Let me tell you that in our real life there is more drama than our films. The drama in our films is still subtle. If you hear our real life stories, you'll realise that we make very subtle stories. There is a lot of drama off-screen," the 40-year-old said.

Some of Karan's films include "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham" and "Kal Ho Na Ho", and "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna", among others.

Kainaz not hassled with low promotion of "Challo Driver"

Actress Kainaz Motivala's debut film "Ragini MMS" was widely promoted while her next, "Challo Driver", has seen low-scale promotions. However, she is not disappointed.

"This is an independent film, 'Ragini' (Ragini MMS), of course, was a Balaji (Balaji Telefilms Ltd) film so the difference (in promotions) is expected. But I think this film's USP is that it will gain word-of-mouth publicity. I think it's going to be great," the 25-year-old said in an interview.

"If you liked my performance in 'Ragini', please watch 'Challo Driver'. This is a very different character, never-before-seen on Indian screens," she added.

"Challo Driver" has Kainaz in the role of a chauffeur and also stars Vickrant Mahajan, the director of the film, in the male lead. It hits theatres Friday.
