Bhubaneswar, July 15 (ANI): Police in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, arrested Jyoti Kalita, one of the main accused in the Guwahati molestation case, on Sunday.
Kalita was picked up at the Bhubaneswar railway station. The total number of arrests in the case now is seven.
Earlier, Assam Police on Sunday arrested two more persons in connection with the mob molestation incident. It also suspended a sub-inspector in the case.
Four more remain on the run, while one is yet to be identified, according to the police.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had on Saturday set a 48-hour deadline for the police to nab the culprits. A Special Task Force was also constituted to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, the special team formed by the National Commission for Women (NCW) made a major faux pas on Saturday when it revealed the name of the victim at a media briefing in Bhubaneswar. (ANI)
