London, July 12 (ANI): England coach Andy Flower is convinced Ravi Bopara, who was one of the top scorers against Australia in the ODI series, can finally re-launch his Test career.
Bopara is certain to bat at No 6 in the First Test against South Africa on July 19 after a string of consistent performances in limited-overs cricket.
The Essex star, 27, scored three centuries against West Indies in 2009 but he has played just seven Tests since then, and averages a disappointing 34.
Bopara will get another chance after Eoin Morgan endured a chronic loss of form last winter and Jonny Bairstow struggled against the Windies earlier this summer, The Sun reports.
Flower said: "Ravi is an experienced player now and he played a number of very confident innings in the one-day series against Australia. I played with him at Essex and we all know how talented he is and it's rewarding for the coaches to see someone like Ravi progressing."
England is also confident spinner Graeme Swann, 33, will be fit for next week's First Test at The Oval. (ANI)
