New Delhi, July 12 (ANI): India and Peru will hold the fourth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOCs) here on Friday.
"Vice-Foreign Minister for External Affairs of Peru Jose Beraun Aranibar is visiting India on July 12-13. Secretary (West) (R. Ganapathy) will hold the fourth round of FOCs with the visiting dignitary on July 13," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) release said.
"Both sides will sign two MOUs, including one on Cooperation in Geology and Mineral Resources and one for the setting up of a Centre of Excellence of Information Technology (CEIT)," the release added.
Bilateral relations between India and Peru are warm and friendly. Bilateral trade between the two countries has touched a record of 835 million dollars in 2011, and is likely to cross one billion dollars in 2012.
There are also significant Indian investments in Peru particularly in mining, hydrocarbons, pharma and information technology.
India and Peru have always maintained close contacts in the UN and other multilateral fora. Peru supports India's claim for a permanent seat in the expanded United Nations Security Council (UNSC). (ANI)
