Mumbai, July 11 (ANI): Mumbai Police on Wednesday raided a bar and arrested at least five girls, allegedly a part of immoral trafficking, along with bar employees.
The raid was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (social service branch) Phiroze Patel in the wee hours of Wednesday at the Gold Smith Bar, in Chembur area.
A case has been registered against the bar owner, who was let off after questioning.
Reportedly, more than hundred girls have been rescued in the last three to four months from bars, saloons and massage centers, functioning as prostitution dens.
The Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) act is meant to combat trafficking of females as well as prostitution in the city. (ANI)
