Captain Kompany envisages more success with Man City in future

London, July 11(ANI): Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes the club has a lot more to achieve in the coming years, and wants the Etihad outfit to dominate Europe after tasting domestic success last season.

City won the English Premier League on goal difference on a dramatic final day of the season, and now Kompany wants to dominate for years to come, just like their local rivals Manchester United did in the past two decades.

"There's so much more great stuff ahead of us. And that's what interests me," The Daily Mirror quoted Kompany, as saying.

"If you lay down the right foundations, you can be successful for a long time and that's the aim," he added.

With manager Roberto Mancini having penned a new deal and the core of the squad intact, Kompany said the club has the potential to build on the success of last season and take a step up to join Europe's elite.

City's pre-season action kicks off with three games in Innsbruck, the first of which is against Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal on Friday. They also face Arsenal in Beijing on July 27 and a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur three days later.ity then face Wolfsburg on August 4, before taking on the FA Cup winners Chelsea in the Community Shield at Villa Park on August 12.
