Team Bangladesh ready to tour Pak if court injunction lifted: BCB chief

Lahore, Fri, 29 Jun 2012 ANI

Lahore, June 29 (ANI): Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief Mustafa Kamal has assured Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf that they are still interested in touring Pakistan for a cricket series, and, if it wasn't for the High Court injunction, the tour would have not been postponed.

According to sources, Kamal, during an International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Kuala Lumpur, told Ashraf that the Bangladesh team would visit Pakistan as soon as the Dhaka High Court permits them to do so, reports The Nation.

Bangladesh had earlier agreed to tour Pakistan, but it was cancelled following an injunction order from the Bangladesh court.

"The details of the matter are that some party has made a complaint to the court that Pakistan is not a safe place for the players to visit and doing so will be against the national interest," Kamal said.

"This case is pending in the court and will be resolved with a hearing that is expected to happen within two weeks time. In the event that the court dismisses this case, the BCB will have no objections to tour Pakistan and the tour will be arranged based on mutually agreed dates as soon as possible. We are still keen on touring Pakistan," he said.

Pakistan has not hosted an international match since 2009 after the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by terrorists. (ANI)
