Wellington, June 25 (ANI): Four New Zealand players from the under-20 rugby team have been allegedly linked to the rape of woman who told the South African police that she was raped at the Cape Town hotel.
According to Herald Sun, the New Zealand team was staying at the same hotel where the woman was raped.
The incident allegedly took place after New Zealand lost to South Africa in the junior world championship finals.
The New Zealand Rugby Union initially said that the allegations were not true. However, it confirmed that there was an incident involving a player.
According to reports, a 22-year-old woman had complained the police on Saturday after visiting the hotel on Friday night.
Police spokesman Vish Naidoo confirmed that the police was called to the hotel.
The victim reportedly could not tell who raped her because she could not remember. (ANI)
