Los Cabos (Mexico), June 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Monday expressed hope that the G-20 summit being held here, will come up with "constructive proposals" to pull the world out of the current economic crisis.
Arriving here for the seventh edition of the annual meeting of developed and developing countries after a nearly 13-hour long flight from Frankfurt, Dr. Singh, in a brief interaction with media, said, "The world is in deep trouble, I hope the G-20 will come up with constructive proposals to get the world out of this crisis."
Dr. Singh expressed happiness to be in the "friendly" country of Mexico, and acknowledged the G-20 as a premier group for international economic cooperation.
During his two-day visit, Dr Singh is also expected to have one on one meetings with heads of Germany and France and also African and Latin American countries for improving bilateral relations.e will also interact with Sri Lankan and Nepalese leaders.
Dr. Singh will later proceed to Brazil for attending the Rio+20 summit scheduled from June 20.
The G-20 summit is being held against the backdrop of dwindling global economy and a pestering Eurozone crisis, which is threatening to affect several countries including India. (ANI)
