Mumbai, June 15 (ANI): Bollywood actors promoted their forthcoming cricket-themed film, 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' in Mumbai on Thursday.
Actor Sharman Joshi promoted his forthcoming movie and makers of the movie organised a special screening, which was attended by big wigs of the tinsel town.
'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' movie revolves around a little boy who dreams big to play at Lords cricket stadium in London and his father goes all out to fulfill his dreams.
"Though the movie is releasing tomorrow, I still I believe that the movie 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' is already a hit as I was able to successfully convey what I wanted to through this movie. It is a huge success as you have told me that Amitabh Bachchan watched the movie and he got emotional after watching it," said filmmaker, Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Joshi while interacting with the reporters said that he is overwhelmed with the performance of debutant Ritwik Sahore who has played the role of his son in the movie.
"Like I have been saying he is an exceptionally gifted kid and he is such a well mannered well brought up kid credit goes to his parents and that adds to the overall performance that he is been able to perform. Thanks to his parents and thanks to Ritvik what a fabulous gifted actor you are, it's been a pleasure and honour," said Joshi.
Of the cast, Sharman Joshi is perfectly suited as the meek but good-hearted father and actor Boman Irani once again plays a version of the crabby old man that he has perfected in many films.
"I know people will love this movie, it comes from the heart. I am not saying it is blockbuster movie that the trade people and producers of the movie will talk about. I am talking about myself and I believe that this is the most innocent and sweet movie I have worked in my entire life," said Irani.
The director of the movie, Rajesh Mapuskar in cleverly promotional bid has used the gleaming red Ferrari, which was once owned by legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar.
Mapuskar has the germ of a good idea in the story - that of an earnest, hard-working father who wants the best for his son, but cannot always provide that, thanks to his middle-class existence.
When Rusy's son Kayo wants to participate in a cricket camp, which will take him to the hallowed Lord's cricket ground in London, he has to arrange 150,000 rupees.
When a wedding planner who needs a Ferrari for a marriage in the family of a small-time politician offers Rusy the money and asks him if he can get her the car, he decides to take the plunge.
Since the only person with a red Ferrari in Mumbai seems to be cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who also happens to be his son's idol, Rusy decides to try his luck.
The movie also highlights attitude towards cricket in India where people respect cricketers more than the sport, where centuries mean more than the team winning and where a career in cricket means money and riches and a ticket out of a dreary middle-class existence.
The movie has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and star casts Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani, Ritwik Sahore, Nilesh Divekar, Deepak Shirke and Satyadeep Mishra.
Music of the film is already a hit, which has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty and movie is slated for a worldwide release on June 15. (ANI)
