Bhubaneswar, June 13 (ANI): Tata Group Chairman designate Cyrus Mistry met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here, with a motive to discuss the progress of the six million-tonne plant in the state.

The first phase of the Tata project at Kalinganagar in Odisha will be completed by March 2014, and the second phase will end by 2015. In addition, they would set up a ferrochrome plant and a steel rolling mill

Patnaik said that they discussed the expanse of the plant, which is going to be extended to several districts.

"The gentlemen from Tatas came to see me, and of course, we have discussed their plants in Jajpur district, Ganjam, Kalinganagar and I have asked them to put up a 500-bedded hospital in Ganjam," Patnaik said.

He added that he had asked the steel giant to set up training centres in the state to generate maximum employment.

"Young men and women should get good training, really professional training to get jobs," Patnaik said.

Tata also has plans to set up steel plants in Karnataka and in Hubli, West Bengal. (ANI)
