Now, Apple unveils Siri for cars through 'Eyes Free' system

Washington, June12 (ANI): Apple has launched 'Eyes Free', a vehicle integration system that will allow drivers to access Siri with a tap on their steering wheel.ith automakers lining up to install the "Eyes Free" system, Apple may once again reframe how the world uses technology.

Apple previewed the new system for automobiles at its annual developers conference in San Francisco on Monday.

According to Politico, even as the launch comes by software giant Apple, the integration isn't a new concept and there's also no guarantee it will actually deter drivers from being distracted.

"It was inevitable this would happen. The way that Siri works is better than what any of the other automaker devices can do. So why not just let the phone do it itself?" said Ed Kim, an industry analyst with Asia Pacific.

Kim pointed out that most of the major automakers, from Mercedes to Chrysler, have already committed to Siri integration in an unprecedented 12 months, which indicated the extent to which carmakers are embracing hands-free devices beyond the in-car systems they're working to create. (ANI)
