Mike Tyson and Spike Lee in talks to collaborate for Broadway show

New York , Tue, 05 Jun 2012 ANI

New York, June 5 (ANI): American director Spike Lee is reportedly in talks to direct Mike Tyson's Broadway show 'Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth'.

The former boxing champion revealed that Lee is going to be "involved" and the two have already begun discussing changes for the show's Broadway debut.

"Spike Lee is gonna be involved," the New York Post quoted Tyson as telling TMZ.com.

"Oh yeah, it's awesome," he said.

Lee reportedly got the chance to see Tyson's show-which tells not only the story of his rise and fall as a boxing great but also of his tumultuous youth growing up as the son of a pimp and prostitute in Brooklyn-during a week-long run in Las Vegas in April.

Lee is reportedly working with theater mogul Jimmy Nederlander Jr. to bring the show to a Broadway stage, possibly even by the end of the summer.

The show was originally staged at the MGM Grand, where Tyson famously bit off a part of competitor Evander Holyfield's ear during a fight.

This will not be Lee's first time on the Great White Way. He made his Broadway debut with 'Stalag 17' in 2007 and also recorded the quirky Broadway musical 'Passing Strange' for a limited release film, which also was available via On-Demand cable. (ANI)
