Thiruvananthpuram, May 30 (ANI): The Kerala High Court (HC) on Wednesday granted conditional bail to two Italian marines, who have been accused of killing two Keralite fisherman off the Needakara coast in Kollam in February.
The court has also asked Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone to surrender their passports. The marines are not permitted to leave Kerala without the court's consent, and they have to report to the police everyday.
The Kerala High Court on Tuesday had dismissed a petition by the Italian government seeking quashing of the First Information Report (FIR). Earlier, the marines' bail plea was rejected by the Sessions Court in Kollam.
The sailors are currently lodged in Borstal school in Kochi, which houses juvenile delinquents.
They have been granted bail on deposit of Rs. 1crore each. (ANI)
