London, May 30 (ANI): One-third of phone mobile users in Britain would definitely upgrade to a Facebook phone, a survey has revealed.
The social networking giant has made several ventures into the mobile market before in partnership with manufacturers such as HTC and INQ.
But this time, a new phone made by Facebook, which is believed to have hired former Apple engineers, is rumoured to be in production, The Daily Mail reports.
The handset is rumoured to be set for a 2013 release, the paper said.
According to the report, it could be a major hit as a poll covering 968 people found that 32 percent of phone users would upgrade as soon as it became available.
The survey conducted by MyVoucherCodes, also showed that 73 percent think the phone is a 'good idea'.
Of those polled, 57 percent hoped that it would be cheaper than an iPhone, which raises speculations that Facebook phone could be a serious threat to iPhone. (ANI)
