New Delhi, May 29 (IANS) Consumer electronics manufacturer Philips India Tuesday launched AirFryer, an electric cooker that fries food stuff using 80 percent less oil, at Rs.14,995.

"This is a first product in this category in India. We expect a good response to it, like the one we have received when we launched the product internationally eight months ago," A.D.A. Ratnam, president, consumer lifestyle, Philips India, told IANS.

The company did not disclose the development cost of the product or the expected revenue generation from the new offering.

The company also said it will produce some of its imported products, including induction cooker tops and shavers, in India in one to two years' time to reduce the impact of rupee depreciation in future.
